About Dr. Irma Peñuñuri
Irma Peñuñuri is a creative director, publicist, and producer for prestigious magazines, A-list celebrities, brands, and festivals. Her agency, Burgerrock Media, has produced covers for Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Glamour, Forbes, and Vogue, featuring Paris Hilton, G-Eazy, French Montana, Steve Harvey, Thalia, and J. Balvin.
Burgerrock Media’s notable areas of expertise are minority integration and creating pop culture moments. Through her agency, she has successfully achieved numerous brand placements with A-list talent, coordinated and styled numerous red-carpet events, and provided support to various fashion designers’ brands.
Irma’s breakthrough in the industry was her work for the Obama administration on the ‘Save the Latino Vote’ initiative in Nevada. In this role, she led the press initiative and had the honour of introducing Latin superstar rapper J. Balvin to former US President Barack Obama. This campaign garnered significant attention and propelled Irma into the spotlight. As a result, many A-list celebrities were intrigued by her remarkable achievements and eagerly sought collaboration opportunities with her.
Currently, Irma’s focus is on brand building and expanding the global reach of the Burgerrock Media brand. Irma Peñuñuri captivated the audience from the very beginning of her talk, opening with a profound and thought-provoking quote by Brené Brown: “Connection is why we’re here; it is what gives us purpose and meaning to our lives.”
The quote set the tone for the talk , as Irma delved into the significance of connection in our lives. She passionately spoke about how It is an inherent human desire to seek connection, as it fulfils us and provides a profound sense of purpose. On the other hand, shame represents our deepest fear, stemming from the fear of disconnection.
Drawing from her own experiences, Irma shared compelling stories and examples that highlighted true courage lies in the act of embracing vulnerability. By stepping into vulnerability, we demonstrate immense bravery and strength. The more we embrace vulnerability and actively connect with others, the more our courage flourishes. It is through this continuous practice of vulnerability and connection that we become increasingly resilient and courageous individuals.
