The label collaborates with prestigious textile mill, Huddersfield Fine Worsted, and has affiliation with Savile Row. BA (Hons) Year 2 Student Devon Armogeda reports…

With just eight collections, Naeem Anthony’s creations have been featured in Vogue Italia, L’Officiel and Harper’s Bazaar amongst others. Naeem Anthony was sponsored by GQ and Vogue Italia to attend Pitti Uomo, in June 2015, the world’s most coveted private men’s clothing and accessories exhibition platform. Anthony aims to merge eastern and western dressing codes. Helen Anthony’s collections are deeply inspired by Christian architectural marvels of Renaissance churches, Romanesque cathedrals, and historical architecture. Naeem Anthony’s five-year old daughter and his grandmother, Helen Thomas, who handed down her knowledge of craftsmanship and tailoring, have deeply influenced his design process. Naeem Anthony’s focus is on sending messages of inclusivity, through his diverse casting, simultaneously showcasing what the 21st century truly is – a melting pot of culture, languages, ideas, and ethnicities.

Keeping the environment in mind, 70-80% of the brand’s fabrics are produced in Britain, with the remaining 20-30% being produced in Italy. The entirety of the business’s garment production is between these two countries. The brand brings a fresh perspective. Helen Anthony has set an admirable example by deliberately choosing, “closer to home production” supply chains through sourcing his fabrics with British luxury fabric mills, Scabal and Huddersfield Textiles, and working craftsmen. Additionally, Naeem Anthony fuses upcycling practices with couture creating striking pieces from material that normally would be scrapped.

Naeem Anthony’s next collection is “ready-to-wear menswear and womenswear collection with the addition of childrenswear,” that will continue to explore haute couture and the brand’s detail-oriented design process, refreshing casting, and invigorating fashion industry collaborations; it is only a matter of time until the brand reaches its next business frontier.
