Yellow is the new black

With Spring finally raising the temperature, its time to forget dark and heavy makeup and opt for more light and colourful options, especially when it comes to eyeshadow. It’s the ideal time to move away from earthy tones and classic hues and experiment with more bold colours, like yellow.

For Spring 2016 – the colour was a big hit with brands like Stella McCartney, Isabel Marant and Victoria Beckham, and the beauty industry has followed. Eyes with a flash of yellow are this season’s focal point (sorry red lipstick!). From Glamour’s June cover star Kylie Jenner to Gwen Stefani’s Urban Decay collaboration (yellow shade’s name: 1987), it’s the latest update from major brands. M.A.C has been filling its Instagram account with gorgeous pictures showcasing its love for the colour yellow.

Yellow is hailed as to be the most luminous colour of the spectrum, capturing attention, happiness and optimism. What could possibly describe Spring better than that? Sounds like a perfect match.
