Journey to the Top

Harris’ great success came with hard work and her lifelong passion for magazines and writing, which has consistently provided a clear goal for Harris to move towards. While studying at the London College of Fashion, she spent countless hours in internships doing the menial tasks that keep fashion publications running.

Since starting at Vogue as a Fashion Features Director 19 years ago, she noted a shift in the malleability of fashion media. Her rise in seniority and Edward Enninful’s involvement since 2017, have inspired even more boundaries challenged and epic history created.

Harris encouraged those starting out in their careers to lead with confidence, not take no for an answer, get involved with your work, make yourself an asset, and take risks.

Have conviction in yourself and don’t be afraid to take a leap.” – Sarah Harris

A Day in the Life

Although a day in the life of Sarah Harris varies greatly, she is heavily responsible for the creative mapping of British Vogue. Prior to speaking with the Condé Nast College, Harris was upstairs in a meeting with Enninful working on the spring and summer issues. This entails planning stories, layouts, cover lines, and mapping out the running order of the pages.

As a part of her global network duties, Harris speaks with Anna Wintour at US Vogue and the European Vogue leads on a regular basis to create content production and story direction.

Personal Style

As an icon of style, Harris’ uniform is effortlessly chic and functional. Her custom-fit blazer, white t-shirt, suited skinny black trousers, and combat boots perfectly showcased her signature minimalistic elegance.

A self-described “considerate shopper,” Harris prioritises longevity with every purchase. The mantra, “Buy better. Buy less,” has guided Harris’ consumption habits in an age where sustainability must be at the centre of industry conversations.
