It's all action at the Condé Nast College!
#LFW
The October term hasn’t even started yet, but the Condé Nast College has been busier than ever. September saw London Fashion Week at its new venue in the Brewer Street Car Park and with it came much excitement to Soho. The British Fashion Council hosted its London Fashion Week Talk Series Presented by American Express at the Condé Nast College, bringing yet more of the industry’s elite through our doors. Speakers included photographer Miles Aldridge, Zandra Rhodes, and Peter Pilotto, (among many others) who gave their sage advice on how to get ahead in the fashion industry.
Fashion East, the brilliant initiative that supports emerging young designers, debuted new label This Is The Uniform as part of its Spring/Summer 2016 London Fashion Week presentation. Taking over the ground floor of the Condé Nast College, our signature white space was transformed into a colourful flurry of models, make up and wonderfully covetable clothes.
Candace Bushnell Book Launch
Candace Bushnell, famed author of “Sex and the City,” celebrated the launch of her new book, “Killing Monica” with an exclusive afternoon hosted at the Condé Nast College this week. Guests were treated to champagne cocktails and a goody bag courtesy of Be at One and Benefit Cosmetics.
One week courses
Amid all this activity, we have run four successful week-long courses, which brought budding journalists, stylists and future CEOs through our doors. Highlights have included still life photography sessions featuring Manolo Blahnik shoes, tours of Vogue House, and a highly enjoyable visit to the “Shoes: Pleasure and Pain” exhibition at the V&A museum. A student on our one week Fashion Journalism Course summed up her experience at the Condé Nast College in this: https://inspiredinthecity.wordpress.com/2015/09/27/breaking-into-journalism-the-conde-nast-way/
We look forward to welcoming the Vogue Fashion Certificate and Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma students next week!
