Henry Holland Visits the Condé Nast College

It was all action at the Condé Nast College yesterday with both designer Henry Holland and Fashion East founder Lulu Kennedy coming in to share their wisdom and experience with the students. Holland was first up and his advice included “trying a bit of everything before you decide what area of the fashion industry you might like to work in.” And he should know – Holland was happily pursuing a career in teen magazines when, ten years ago, his “joke” slogan t-shirt collection went the then equivalent of viral. A self-confessed workaholic, Holland admitted that he doesn’t “even like weekends. By Sunday, I’m ready for more work. That said,” he added with characteristic humility, “it’s still such a learning curve. That’s what keeps it interesting, so long as you have the stomach-churning passion for it all.”
