Crowning Glory: Sam McKnight

On Tuesday, the students visited the Hair by Sam McKnight exhibition at Somerset House and had a special presentation from the man himself! Speaking to Principal Susie Forbes, McKnight discussed his life amongst fashion royalty and his endless fascination with hair. He also spoke of the joy of putting the exhibition together and sharing his life’s work from 1980s Vogue tearsheets to wigs worn by Lady Gaga. Famous faces filled the display including “the girls” – supermodels Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista- as well as Her Royal Highness Princess Diana, and the various faces of the fashion industry today. His proudest acheivement? Continuing to stay relevant for 40 years. And we know he’ll continue to do so!
