BA Degree Programme to Launch at the Conde Nast College

We are excited to announce that the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design is to offer a two-year intensive BA (Hons) Fashion Communication degree from October 2016. The course will be validated by a leading UK university.

Susie Forbes, Principal of the Condé Nast College, commented: “We know from 600 or so students that have been through our doors since we opened in 2013 that there is a tremendous appetite for an undergraduate programme here at the College. I am incredibly proud of our existing suite of courses and everything that we have achieved so far, but the fast-track, two-year BA (Hons) Fashion Communication degree will take us to an even higher level and represents a significant step forward.”

The College has unrivalled industry access and the BA course has been developed with the needs and requirements of the fashion business in mind. The aim is to ensure graduates are capable, job-ready individuals with strong transferable skills and a comprehensive understanding of how the fashion business really works.

Students will study a range of subjects including: fashion history, media, digital marketing, journalism, styling, visual communication, business, branding and PR.

College Academic Director Angela Jones explained: “This is a purposefully broad-based course intended to provide an insight into a range of areas with fashion. There are so many careers in fashion beyond that of garment design, and this BA will allow students to explore these opportunities. Creating a two-year BA programme was always an important aim of the College, as we believe that the intensive nature of the course structure prepares students more effectively for working in the fashion industry.”

The College will continue to offer a range of shorter courses, including the ten-week Vogue Fashion Certificate, the four-week Vogue Summer Intensive, the weekend Miss Vogue course and week-long courses in Fashion Business, Fashion Styling and Fashion Journalism. The year-long Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma will also run alongside the BA, with the opportunity to progress to the BA on completion.

The Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design is based in the heart of London in Soho’s Greek Street, near to London Fashion Week’s main show space and a short walk from Vogue House, the headquarters of Condé Nast Publications. To date, over 600 students have enrolled at the Collge, from more than 50 different countries. Graduates have gone on to secure roles across a wide range of companies, including: Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Harrods, Mario Testino, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Emilia Wickstead, Gucci, Finery, ASOS, LuluLemon, Celine, Net-a-Porter and many others.
