The Vogue Business Intensive Course is suitable for students from a wide range of backgrounds, including school-leavers and graduates hoping to work in the business-related side of the fashion industry, as well as those who are seeking a new career path.
This course is a concentrated four-week programme that offers a broad introduction to the fashion industry through the expert eye of the world’s most famous and influential fashion magazine – Vogue – and other Condé Nast resources and titles (including Vogue Business, Wired, GQ, and Tatler) to give students a unique insight into the business of fashion.

Although British Vogue is our starting point, the course also draws upon broad fashion industry and business-related influences that inform the fast-paced and exciting fashion industry. The course will touch on a wide range of topics, from business development to branding, marketing, PR, retail, and trend forecasting.
Each week, a key theme is considered, and you will work on group projects and activities throughout the course, including developing your very own business/commercial innovation and digital marketing content proposition for Vogue.
The College day begins at 10 am and ends at 5 pm. Any activities taking place beyond this time are optional.
On your first day, you will receive a class timetable, which you will access through TimeEdit, the College scheduling system.
There are no specific books to buy for the course. Students will have access to the College reference library, and Vogue archive, and recommendations for further reading will be made throughout the course.
Week 1: Introduction & Context of Fashion
College induction and introduction to key topics that will be covered on the course. As well as weekly themes, there are regular sessions on the topics below, all of which are introduced during the first week.
- The evolution of fashion in the 20th century.
- Planning for a career in the fashion industry.
- Visual communication and digital design skills
- Introduction to the fashion business and innovation
Week 2: Marketing Strategies for Fashion Brands & Businesses
The focus is on fashion marketing, both traditional and contemporary – considering key strategies that can be applied to fashion brands and exploring the importance of good brand ethics, brand purpose and fair business practices.

- Introduction to fashion marketing
- Digital marketing
- Marketing strategy
- Ethical practices for fashion brands
- Trend forecasting
- Visual communication
Week 3: The Future of Fashion Brands and Businesses
The final week will focus on completing and presenting a course assignment as well as learning much more about the future of the fashion industry and how fashion brands are responding to fast developing technological shifts..

Week 4: Fashion Business and Disruption
A closer look at fashion business start-up and development, including creative entrepreneurship, leadership, and an introduction to understanding business financing.

London provides the backdrop to this four-week course, with visits to galleries and exhibitions – as well as the Vogue House visit – all contributing to an exceptional overall course experience.
And what better guide than the Condé Nast family of media and business resources, magazines, and digital platforms to explore the fashion world today?
This is an intensive study programme with classes and activities Monday to Thursday, from 10 am to 5 pm. Lectures delivered by fashion and business academics will be supplemented with presentations and workshops from Condé Nast staff and leading industry specialists.
On the final Friday, at 4.00 pm, there will be an end-of-course celebration.
Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good level of English.
There are no formal English language requirements for this course, however it is delivered and assessed in English. If you are a non-UK student and English is not your first language, we recommend you have an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 or be able to use English at this level if you do not hold an English language qualification, before you start. It is your responsibility to ensure that you will be able to participate fully.
